About

Our school was founded by the Salesians of Don Bosco, a Catholic religious institute. The Salesians came to Taiwan to establish our school in response to the invitation of Bishop Lucas Li of the Diocese of Tainan. Originally, the plan was to establish a vocational school, but based on the recommendation of social elites, a junior high school was established first. Groundbreaking for the school took place on December 22, 1963, and the first phase of construction was completed in August of 1964. The school was officially named "Tainan Private Salesian Junior High School", with Father Yung-ting Ma serving as the first principal. Enrollment began in the 1964-1965 academic year.

In 1966, the school expanded to include senior high school and was renamed "Salesian High School". Starting in the 1969-1970 academic year, the school was authorized to offer vocational programs in mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment repair, becoming a comprehensive high school. Mr. Kai-lien Liu served as the second principal. Subsequently, new school buildings were completed to meet the growing demand for technical education, and in response to the government's push for vocational education and the extension of compulsory education, the school was restructured as a senior industrial vocational school in August of 1975, with the addition of an automotive repair program.
The school has dedicated itself to technical and vocational education and has nurtured numerous top technical talent who have made significant contributions to academia and industry, earning recognition and praise from all sectors of society.

In 1998, the school added a new building for business and opened its doors to female students. In 1999, the school was renamed "Tainan City Private Salesian Senior Industrial and Commercial Vocational School".

In 2001, in response to educational reforms and to provide diverse learning opportunities for students' adaptive development, our school began offering a comprehensive high school program. In 2003, practical skill classes were added, including Electrical Repair, Microcomputer Repair, Advertising Technology, and Automotive Repair, totaling four classes. In 2007, a Baking and Food Science class was added to the practical skill program.
In April 2008, the school was awarded by the Ministry of Education as a high-quality vocational school and was among the top priority private vocational schools in Tainan City to receive government subsidies.
